This series consists of transcripts of synopses of letters sent by or received by the Adjutant General's office from militia companies and commanders in Ala. Most of the letters consist of requests for pay and supplies, applications for payment of company transportation costs, and petitions for resignations, discharges, and transfers. The information provided includes the date of receipt, file number, name of writer, date of letter, synopsis of letter, action of Adjutant General's office, and date of action. Two volumes consist of actual letters.
